At Blue Sky Boat Hire, we are incredibly passionate about all things boating, which is why we want all of our customers to have the same magical experience on the water that we have every day.
Before taking your boat out onto the water, one key piece of information that may seem like common knowledge: don’t forget to put the bung in! The bung will ensure that no water gets into your boat – this is absolutely vital for a safe experience out on the water. When hiring our boats, we complete this step for you. All of our boats have a Positive Flotation design, this means that our boats are virtually unsinkable. However, if you do forget to put your bung in on your own boat, you may be spending a lot more time in the water than you may have initially planned!
It is essential that you are aware of the local ocean conditions, tides and sandbanks before you venture out onto the water. The latest that you can return the hired boat back to us is 4pm daily. Our cut-off time is designed to ensure that you have returned with plenty of time before the sunset and the changing afternoon wind conditions. Although you may need to return earlier than this time based on a number of factors.
We know that seeing the incredible marine life can be something to tick off the bucket list, it is also important to remember that your behaviour on the water could massively affect the wildlife and its habitat. It may seem obvious, but a key way of keeping our waters clean and our wildlife thriving is by keeping your rubbish and belonging inside the boat. By throwing your waste overboard and littering into the waters, you will be reducing the water quality and thus resulting in habitat loss.
To have the best experience possible and ensure that you are doing your part in looking after the environment, we want to make sure that the only things you’ll be taking with you from the water are photos and memories, with the only things that you’ll be leaving behind are your footprints in the sand.
